The Crown Chakra or Sasharara – the ‘Seat’ or ‘Throne’ of God,
sits atop the Head.
A Vibrant Violet associates it to the Thousand Petal Lotus. The Crown Chakra is the ‘center to which one attains liberation.’
The Sasharara must wait for the Third Eye to be ready and stable to open up to the ‘God-Head.’ Each Chakra must be in perfect balance with the body to tap into Sasharara. The Eight Limbs of Yoga must be incorporated as well.
When you begin to reach the Crown Chakra in your Yoga Practice, you begin to have a deeper understanding of an ‘on the mat’ and ‘off the mat’ practice. Your Pratyahara (withdrawal of senses – 5th Limb), Dharana (concentration – 6th Limb), and Dhyana (meditation or contemplation – 7th Limb) become more necessary in your daily life, as you begin to find the benefits of practice. Reaching the Crown Chakra is known as Samadhi – State of Ecstasy, the 8th Limb of Yoga.
