Friday September 13th, 2019
Today we are lucky to get a Friday the 13th Full Moon, an infrequent occurrence that will not happen again until 2049. Before tonight, the last Friday the 13th Full Moon was in the year 2006.
Do you suffer from fear of the number 13, a phobia famously called triskaidekaphobia — or specifically the fear of Friday the 13th, which is less famously known as paraskevidekatriaphobia?
When superstition is ingrained within us, we tend to allow fear to lead the way. Being superstitious can have harmful effects on us, especially on a day that we cannot control. Combine this with Full Moon superstition, and we may have a recipe for disaster.
Why is Friday the 13th bad luck? Its origins may come from 1307, France. At dawn on Friday, 13 October 1307 King Philip IV ordered Jaques de Molay, the 23rd and last Grand Master of the Knights Templar; leading the Order from April 20th, 1298 until it was dissolved by order of Pope Clement V in 1312; to death. Many other Knights Templars were simultaneously arrested. The Templars were charged with numerous other offenses such as financial corruption, fraud, and secrecy. Many were imprisoned for years at Domme Dordogne.
Established in 1119, Jerusalem, Israel, and given Papal Recognition on January 13, 1128, by Pope Honorius II, as an Army of God. It is said that King Phillip IV was in severe debt to the Templars, and he chose to destroy them with charges of heresy. The Knights Templar are rumored to exist today as Freemasons.
With all of this bad energy, how can we not be a little superstitious about Friday the 13th? Well, we can try. First, the number 13 breaks down, in numerology to 1+3 = 4. Four is a protective number, combine this with the gifts a Full Moon can bring and we have a recipe for success!
This Full Moon, the Harvest Moon, would act as a light for farmers working late. The Full Moon has always brought prosperity to the Earth in so many ways. The Moon itself controls our tides, as well as our subconscious and our dreams, both waking and sleeping. When we get a gift of a Full Moon on high energy day, the only thing to do is manifest the hell out of it.
This Harvest Full Moon in Pisces is auspicious because we can manifest those dreams more quickly. To usher in the slower months is time to shed lousy energy and clear your space.
Gather Supplies – candles, gemstones, matches, pen, paper, flowers, salt, water, music.
Create Sacred Space – create a beautiful canvas for your ritual. Make it beautiful and full of love and light. Choose music that gives you a balanced state of mind.
Protect Yourself and Your Space – call upon the White Light of the Universe and envision that Light surrounding and protecting you from harmful energies.
Write – what you wish to release, and things you wish to replace them with. I never promote burning, because fire can get out of control, instead use the candlelight to set the intentions, and let it shine bright as you release and reset. Write out your intentions and tear up the page after your spoken words.
Move – with intention and reverse your energy flow, so you are more balanced during the Full Moon. Movement Heals and helps connect us to our higher selves. Do what feels good. Check out my new video here.
